Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Web Sales & Barn Sales
| 1. | Where is the Fabulous Finds store? |
| I do not have a traditional retail store. My business is primarily web-based, except for twice-a-year barn sales. (The photos found throughout this site were taken in the barn.) To accommodate my web-based sales, I schedule appointments. If you are interested in coming by and taking a look at any of the pieces I have, please just let me know and we can set up a time. | |
| 2. | Are prices negotiable? What if I buy several things? |
| All prices are firm and fixed. I try to keep my prices as low and as fair as possible, so I have no wiggle room to go any lower. Thus, I do not negotiate - even for big, multi-item purchases. | |
| 3. | What methods of payment can I use? |
| Cash, personal check, VISA and MasterCard are the acceptable forms of payment. | |
| 4. | Will there be sales tax on my purchases? |
Yes, I will collect 5% Va sales tax.
| 5. | If I see something on the web site that I want, can I buy it now? |
Yes... everything on the web site is available for immediate purchase - UP UNTIL 14 days before the barn sale. I work very hard to keep the web site up to date, so if you see something on the "Featured Items" page, it is still available. Two weeks before a barn sale, all sales are suspended until the actual day of the barn sale. This allows my customers to plan their visit, without fear that an item seen on the web has been, or will be, sold before the barn sale even begins. The 14-day window also gives me a chance to assess my inventory and restock as necessary so that the barn sale has something for everyone!
| 6. | Will someone help me load my purchase(s) into my car? |
| Yes! We will happily help you load anything into your car. | |
| 7. | Can I get a piece of furniture delivered? |
Yes! Delivery is available for an additional fee, which varies by distance, type of piece, and whether it needs to be carried up stairs in your home. The minimum fee is $20; most deliveries run between $20 and $50. All of the money paid for deliveries goes directly to the guys who bring your treasures. As they are college-bound teenagers, they can really use the money!
| 8. | If I purchase something, can I come back and pick it up later in the week? |
| Yes! I will happily hang onto your item until it is convenient for you to pick it up. | |
| 9. | What is the "No early birds" policy? |
| Getting the barn set up for the sale is a big undertaking! Fortunately, I am lucky to have a wonderful team of women to help me, but even with everyone working, we are still arranging, polishing, and tagging right up until the minute the sale begins! If you arrive early, you'll find saw horses across the driveway, preventing you from driving up. We remove these promptly at 8:00 am. | |
| 10. | I can't come on the day of a barn sale. Could I come the day/night before? |
| See question 9 above. Stopping by the barn on the day (or night) before a barn sale is strictly forbidden. My fabulous team is working at a frenzied pace by that point getting ready for the morning. Anyone who comes by is likely to get dusted, polished, and tagged with a price tag! | |
| 11. | I see from the FAQ's that there is no early bird policy, but being unfamiliar with the sale, is there no other time to come to purchase furniture? Is the barn only open during a barn sale? |
No, the barn is 'open' year 'round. Any time you see something on the web site that you like, send me a note and we will set up an appointment. (Sometimes, people who feel a little bit uncomfortable with an appointment will bring a whole van load of girlfriends, sisters, or spouses. There is absolutely no pressure during an appointment; for me they're quite routine!) The exception to the open-year-round concept is in the two weeks leading up to a barn sale. During that window of time, I suspend all sales until the day of the sale. As you can imagine, I do not sell everything I have during a barn sale. On the night of a barn sale, I will remove from the Featured Items page everything that is sold, and begin rebuilding the inventory. As early as the day after a barn sale, if you see something you like on the site, you are very welcome to make an appointment to come and inspect it in person.
| 12. | For the barn "sales", are the items marked down from the web site prices? |
| Prices in the barn generally match the prices on the web. In some instances they may be lower, but not as a general rule. However, you can expect to find a MUCH bigger inventory during a barn sale, than at other times of the year. | |
| 13. | Do prices get lowered toward the end of a barn sale like they often are at estate sales? |
| No, prices remain the same throughout the day. Inventory that is left over when the sale ends, becomes the starting inventory for my next sale, and is also available for web sales. | |
| 14. | If I see something I like at the Barn Sale, can you hold it for me? |
| I'm sorry, but I cannot hold pieces on the day of a barn sale. | |
